Posting Department The medical technologist performs quantitative, qualitative and subjective lab procedures by manual and automated methods in accordance with the instructions in the technical procedures manuals. Performs routine Laboratory procedures accurately and efficiently according to the policies and procedures of Laboratory Services to ensure high quality patient care in all disciplines of the department, including the following sections; Microbiology, Serology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Hematology, Blood Bank, and phlebotomy, as needed. Providing excellent patient care through quality Laboratory Services to patients of all age groups.

Posting Department Description Our full-service medical laboratory serves inpatients, outpatients and off-site laboratory referrals of all ages (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric)adding-up to 2.5 million tests annually (with 40% Outreach). State-of-the-art testing is performed in such disciplines as pathology, blood bank, hematology/coagulation, serology, chemistry and microbiology. Area of Interest Allied Health Start Date Spring Work Week Varies Daily Hours Varies Bi-Weekly Hours 72 External Education Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Lab Related Science with national certification (Medical Technology, Microbiology, etc), or five years of successful work as an MLS generalist conducting competent work in the following laboratory settings: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Microbiology. Education Preferred: MT-ASCP or equivalent External Experience Experience Required: 1-year clinical experience in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Microbiology. Experience Preferred: 2 years Medical Laboratory Scientist experience within a hospital setting. Communicate professionally. Experience maintaining filing systems, logs, and research information. Prior use of Laboratory Diagnostic Equipment and/or electronic systems. Requires Call No Job Status SEASONAL
