Posting Department The Blood Bank/ Serology Supervisor provides leadership to the Blood Bank/ Serology team comprised of Medical Technologists (MT), Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT). The supervisor may also be responsible for supervising the Technical Assistants. The incumbent will direct the Blood Bank/ Serology team to meet the needs of patients, physicians, and staff by ensuring excellence in all aspects of laboratory operations. Ensures appropriate staffing and productivity levels, develops/monitors performance and productivity improvement, safety, quality and regulatory standards. Ensures excellence in customer service and achievement of budgetary goals; manages continuous improvement of section's processes and functions. Directs fiscal management of the section, including forecasting and monitoring of operating performance. Identifies and implements strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of service. Directs the management of section's human resources and employee relations. Accountable for on-going training and professional development of staff. Accountable for adherence to state and federal rules and regulations; ensures compliance with CAP, FDA , AABB, and other federal, state and local agencies. Performs clinical and related duties as required. Reports to Director, Laboratory.

Posting Department Description Our full-service medical laboratory serves inpatients, outpatients and off-site laboratory referrals of all ages (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric)adding-up to 2.5 million tests annually (with 40% Outreach). State-of-the-art testing is performed in such disciplines as pathology, blood bank, hematology/coagulation, serology, chemistry and microbiology. The lab is accredited by the College of American Pathologists.
