Provides guidance and assistance for EMS students during their field and clinical rotations. Grades and monitors the students' performance during their clinical and field rotations. Provides instruction for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) programs and participates in program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides education in class and in lab to Paramedic students. Participates in related projects.
Guides and assists students during field and clinical rotations.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Must be available to students while they are in clinical phases. This will include evenings and weekends.
Assesses performance of students during field and clinical rotations.
Assists preceptors in the field and clinical settings when needed.
Participates in the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of EMS educational program offerings.
Prepares and delivers instruction either at the main campus or off-site, as needed; supervises the activities of course participants during instructional time.
Evaluates learner performance, provides feedback, and develops learner remediation plans.
Fulfills EMS educational program administrative requirements, to include calculation and submission of grades, maintenance of program, course, and student/participant records, and preparation and submission of data and reports.
Participates in continuing professional development programs as appropriate.
Adheres to established School of Health Sciences and departmental policies and procedures and relevant quality and safety standards.
Participates in activities that promote the EMS department, to include student recruiting, and program marketing events, as appropriate.
Provides in class lectures and in lab education for Paramedic students.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
HS/GED and successful completion of an EMS Academy-approved EMS instructor course and teaching internship, or equivalent; at least 3 years of directly related EMS experience. PA DOH licensure as EMT-Paramedic or Nationally Registered Paramedic.
