Assist dentist chairside utilizing 4-handed technique in patient treatment. Perform, under direct supervision of a dentist, the following: placing and removing rubber dams, placing and removing matrices, placing and contouring amalgam restorations and placing and finishing composite resin restorations. Fabrication of Crown and bridge provisionals, sealants, coronal polishing, fluoride treatments, including fluoride varnish. Taking impressions of teeth for study models, diagnostic casts and athletic appliances. Working knowledge of Specialty Dental procedures including, Orthodontics, Periodontics and Implant and Oral Surgery. Take, develop and mount x-rays, maintain supplies, set-up and breakdown of operatories. Assist at multi locations as necessary.
Assist the general & specialty dentist chairside as assigned. Perform instrument management, sterilization processing & inventory control in an accurate manner & ensure compliance with all policies & procedures. End-to-end patient service, set up & breakdown of operatories per policies. Allocate time, resources efficiently & effectively; Take responsibility for all work activities; Implement decisions that have been agreed upon; Maintain confidentiality with sensitive info at all times.
Perform dental procedures on patients utilizing Expanded Function skills. Possess & maintain current PA permit for application of these duties including meeting all continuing education reqs. Expose and mount digital radiographs. Proactively identify issues with supervisor/mgr. Act professionally & calmly at all times; Treat all people respectfully; Take personal responsibility for correcting problems; Follow up to ensure satisfaction with the level of service they have received.
Set-up and breakdown of operatory using current infection control standards. Effectively manage conflict with all stakeholders in the dept. Support the front desk when needed & other duties as assigned. Work effectively and consistently with Penn community (e.g., students, faculty, staff), Remain calm in stressful situations; Consistently demonstrate pleasant & respectful disposition that puts people at ease.
Organize and maintain accurate records, greet and set-up for patient procedures. Proficiency and knowledge of Specialty Dental procedures including, Orthodontics, Periodontics and Implant and Oral Surgery.
