MEDICAL ASSISTANT, URGENT CARE , MIT Medical , to assist physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses with evaluation, management, and treatment of patients during and between office visits and other tasks. Will serve as the primary liaison between clinical staff and patients, working as a medical assistant 75% of the time and 25% of the time as a patient service representative (checking patients in and out). Responsibilities will include playing an active role in preparing for the daily operations involved in patient visits and implementing key activities; leading the twice-daily huddle sessions to ensure all pertinent patient information is communicated between clinical staff and having all appropriate materials available so that care is delivered effectively and efficiently; and managing HealtheLife requests, ensuring that patients comprehend medical treatment information provided by each provider, and using the best medium to follow up with each patient to ensure treatment plan compliance.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or a medical assistant certification (AAMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA); two years' experience in a related physician's office, urgent care, or emergency room setting; excellent critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills; ability to comply with established risk management and safety procedures and with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations; sound judgment and problem solving skills; accuracy and attention to detail; ability to maintain CPR certification and participate in site-based CPR drills; strong organizational skills; and ability to prioritize tasks in a complex and busy environment and see them through to completion. Will work a four-day week (10.5 hour days). Urgent Care is open seven days a week 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Rotating weekends is required with some holidays.
